Expert tasting note: “Medium to deep ruby-red color. The nose shows slightly lifted cassis & black-cherry fruit before notes of cedar, vanilla & cocoa butter. The wine is currently very tight, displaying lean redcurrant fruit & plentiful toasty oak. Initially the palate seems light & has well-balanced acidity. A firm structure of fine velvety/grainy tannins dominates the mid palate. A little milky smoothness accompanies red-fruit on the finish. The fruit is closed but promises to open spectacularly.” –
