We’re back baby. It’s no secret that St Kilda is in the midst of a major revival with new venues opening and old favourites revitalised. This Valentine’s Day, take the opportunity to fall in love with one of Melbourne’s original neighbourhoods all over again; the home of artists, musicians, pride and seaside living.

Here at The Prince we take your love life very seriously. Whether you’re looking to win over your longtime love, your best friend, or a new crush, our curated list of offerings will put your loved one front and centre.

Check out our list of loved up liaisons or get out and about and explore some of our favourite local haunts.

The Prince Hotel

The recently renovated Prince Hotel is home to a number of St Kilda mainstays – and a couple of new ones to boot. Inspired by the glamour and grime of St Kilda and its eclectic history, Prince Dining Room has replaced former fine diner Circa.

Executive Chef Dan Hawkins and Head Chef Dan Cooper’s light, flavoursome, menu is inspired by hyper-seasonal ingredients, always working at the peak of the seasons.

Sourced from local markets, the St Kilda Veg Out Community Garden and a thoughtfully curated network of regional growers, producers and fishermen, ‘The Dans’ select each ingredient with a predetermined purpose in mind, a seasonal value and a local significance.

Get back to nature and peruse the organic, chemical-free Veg Out Community Garden run by passionate green thumbs in St Kilda. The Prince Hotel team contribute time and ongoing maintenance to this local initiative, with produce from the garden making its way onto our menus during peak season.

In this special garden, the flowers, vegetables and artworks all have equal standing; the rabbits, chickens, budgies and quails add yet another dimension; and the friendships that have sprung up between gardeners, artists and visitors make it an oasis of calm in one of Melbourne’s busiest tourist precincts.
