As the sun shines so does St Kilda. It’s (finally) summer and our calendar highlights have shifted to embrace the great outdoors. Join us as we slip, slop and slap our way into the New Year. Here’s our list of the best things to do in St Kilda this December.
1. PRINCE PUBLIC BAR OPENING
After a long-anticipated refurb, Prince Public Bar reopens its doors this December. Boasting an all-new interior, extended bar and dining areas, our pub returns to fulfil its lifelong duty as local watering hole to St Kilda natives and seaside visitors. The menu, comprised of pub classics with a Prince twist, is bound to surprise while simultaneously scratching an itch left in St Kilda pub culture until now. Exact opening dates will be posted soon.
Keep an eye on and follow the @princepublicbar Instagram for updates.
2. PRINCE. IS. ON. IN PRINCE BANDROOM
Saturday 7 December
PRINCE returns to Prince Bandroom with a celebration of summer nights. LUKE VECCHIO and CLUELESS are already announced with more to come. Gather, dance, play.
3. CAROLS BY QUEERLIGHT AT ST KILDA TOWN HALL
Saturday 14 December
The “Campest Thing Since Christmas,” Carols by Queerlight, returns to St Kilda Town Hall for 2019 as the Melbourne Rainbow Band presents a fabulous night of celebration and festive entertainment for the Diverse Gender and Sexuality community. All are invited to sing along with The CBQ Singers Choir and the Melbourne Rainbow Band. Gather the family and head out with the LGBTIQ+ community; putting the sparkle and glitter back into the festive season.
4. OPEN AIR CINEMA
Until Friday 20 December
American Express Openair Cinemas is a celebration of summer, bringing great films to spectacular locations across Australia and New Zealand. With freshly-cooked cuisine, a fully-stocked bar and a range of comfortable seating options, enjoy an evening under the stars for an unforgettable cinema experience. This December the Open Air Cinema moves to South Beach Reserve on the St Kilda Foreshore, how convenient 😉
5. WBBL CRICKET
Sunday 1 December
The summer of cricket is officially upon us. Embrace the sound of summer by coming to support Melbourne’s two WBBL teams in a doubleheader.
