What do the Rolling Stones, Tom Jones, The Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, Eddie Vedder, Placebo, Bob Dylan, Rufus Wainwright, Josh Groban, Jackson Browne and Air Supply have in common? They’ve all taken to the stage at the Palais Theatre to play to thousands of Australian music fans.
The Palais Theatre is rich in history. Built in 1913 by the same owners of its neighbour Luna Park, it has remained a significant feature of the St Kilda entertainment scene.
As well as musicians and bands, it has also regularly played host to both World and Australian ballet performances, operas and stand-up comedians. State and local governments have put a lot of money into ensuring the Palais is looked after, and today you can still experience all its art-deco glory just by stepping inside.
While you’re staying at the Prince, check the Palais’ event listing and grab a ticket.
